Frank is spot on with glassing. Funny story...Hunting elk in Oregon desert this year, find an awesome canyon with everything in it. I start to grid the canyon 15’s on my tripod. Picked up plenty of Mule Deer, found some probable bedding for elk. Go to the next finger to check on my buddy (Grass Is Greener Than Hunter) ask him if he’s seen anything, “there’s no elk in here.” Then of course I ask”Did you grid that north face, and where’s your tripod?” To which he reports “What’s a grid, and fuck that I’m not carrying my tripod!” I found out earlier he had no idea how to use his spotter. Needless to say we hunted 3 different units in 6 days. Did not have one opportunity to even learn the ground we hunted. I will never hunt with another Grass Is Greener Than dude. All we had to do was sit and glass. I think that dude qualifies for #DBAP
